The annual Manager and Volunteer meeting will take place in the main ballroom at the Radisson Hotel, 6060 North Central Expressway on January 31st from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Typically the first hour is directed at Managers and Coordinators and covers logistical items such as site layout, opening hours, stage locations, changes since last year etc. After that we will dedicate the time to new and returning Volunteers covering the needs of the various areas.
I know that this year we will have an increased need for admissions people and information/coupon booths.
This meeting has become the kickoff for the NTIF. Even if you are a returning volunteer and have already been in contact with your area coordinator, come along to the meeting and hear the changes that are taking place for 2010. Meet with old friends and make some new ones. The Volunteer meeting is a great way to keep in touch.
This year we are taking advantage of the online service that our TABC trainer now provides. Rather than ask volunteers to schedule time to attend a meeting at some far off location, we have arranged with TABSS to direct bill us for all NTIF volunteers that take the class. We will provide more details later.
Each year the Board of Directors of the SCMA (the organization that puts on the NTIF) hosts a Volunteer Appreciation Picnic at Winfrey Point on the shores of White Rock Lake. The 2010 picnic will be held on April 25th from 12 noon to 5:00 pm.
The Board will provide a selection of barbecue meats and sauces, plus all the usual beverages; volunteers are requested to bring a vegetable dish, desert or dips.
