NTIF 2010 Site Layout

We know that many of you liked the site of the 2009 festival, returning to Nimitz Circle where the earlier Irish Festivals were held. However, there were some significant difficulties with that arrangement, and we have elected to return to the Centennial and Automobile buildings for at least 2010.

The reason for the 2009 move was the reconstruction work on the reflecting pool. This pool has now been totally rebuilt, and will form an excellent centerpiece to this years festival. Obviously the Shannon tent cannot return to this location, so it will remain in the parking lot between Centennial and Food & Fiber.

The completion of the DART Green Line and Fair Park station is an added bonus for all of us, as one of our four admission gates will be just two small steps across the platform from the train, making DART an easy and affordable way of getting to NTIF.

There will be three other admissions gates: at the end of the Train Museum, close to the Shannon stage; on Nimitz Circle between the Food & Fiber building and the Hall of State; and close to Big Tex Circle by the Tower Building. This admissions gate will be the dropoff location for hotel shuttle busses.

Activities in the Centennial and Automobile buildings will be essentially as in previous years. One addition for 2010 is the inclusion of the Women's Museum. We welcome the Women's Museum as a partner with NTIF, and will be locating the In The Tradition stage, together with workshops and cultural exhibits in their space. While you are there, please take some time to view the other exhibits and enquire about membership so you can return at a later date - perhaps for one of their special events.

There will be a number of other minor changes, and some new features that we are still working on.

Parking

Parking in and around Fair Park is under the control of the City of Dallas. They will monitor all lots and direct traffic as needed. Visitors should enter at Gate 2 off Haskell Avenue and park in the long lot adjacent to the north edge of Fair Park.

When this lot is full, visitors will be directed to Gates 10 and 11 to park east of the Coliseum.

There will be no vehicle access through Gates 3 and 4 except for designated service vehicles.
