For the first time ever, DART, the official transportation provider to NTIF, will deliver visitors directly to our front gate on the newly opened DART Green Line.
Taking DART could not be easier. Simply drive to your nearest Park-and-Ride DART station; leave you car is a well-lit lot; buy a day pass for each person; ride the train to Pearl Street; change to the Green line and exit at Fair Park Station. Less than one more minute and you are inside Fair Park and the North Texas Irish Festival.
DART has an extensive rail network serving most of Dallas, and, via the Trinity Railway Express, Fort Work as well. A complete system map is available on the DART web site.
DART's Red Line runs along North Central Expressway from Parker Road in Plano traveling south to downtown Dallas, then to Westmoreland in West Oak Cliff.
The Blue Line travels south from Downtown Garland in Garland to downtown Dallas, then to Ledbetter in South Oak Cliff.
The Green Line currently provides service between Victory and MLK, Jr. The remainder of the Green Line northwest to North Carrollton/Frankford and southeast to Buckner is projected to open in December 2010.
All three lines serve Pearl, St. Paul, Akard and West End stations in downtown Dallas. Hours of operation are approximately 5 a.m. to midnight.
We suggest that you purchase a $4.00 Local Day Pass for each person ($2.00 for children 5-14). All Day Passes are valid for unlimited rides, including all connections, on the date of purchase only through 3 a.m. the following day. Tickets are available for purchase at all DART stations. It appears that most DART Ticket Vending Machines only accept cash, including bills up to $20.
Drive and park at one of the larger DART stations in Richardson, such as Arapaho, LBJ or Forest Lane. Take the Red Line southbound to Pearl Street. Change to the Green line eastbound to Fair Park. Trains run about every 20 minutes on Saturday and 30 minutes on Sunday. Timetables available here.
Drive and park at one of the larger DART stations such as LBJ/Skillman. Take the Blue Line southbound to Pearl Street. Change to the Green line eastbound to Fair Park. Trains run about every 20 to 30 minutes on Saturday and Sunday. Timetables available here.
Drive and park at one of the larger DART stations such as Ledbetter or Illinois. Take the Blue Line northbound to Pearl Street. Change to the Green line eastbound to Fair Park. Trains run about every 20 to 30 minutes on Saturday and Sunday. Timetables available here.
Or, park at Westmorland and take the Red Line to Pearl Street. Change to the Green line eastbound to Fair Park. Trains run about every 20 to 30 minutes on Saturday and Sunday. Timetables available here.
Take the TRE to Victory station close to the American Airlines arena. Change to the Green line to Fair Park. Tains run about every 40 minutes and the journey takes about 50 minutes from donwtown Fort Worth to Victory Station. Timetables available here. Note - the TRE does not run on Sundays.
Fair Park station is located literally a few feet from the main entrance to Fair Park and the North Texas Irish Festival. NTIF volunteers will be there to greet you as you step off the train and into a small piece of Ireland right in the heart of Dallas.
The last westbound Green line train leaves Fair Park at 12:07 am Saturday and Sunday, which is well after the festival closes.
